West Side Alliance Soccer Club (WSA), is a youth sports club has served the Sand Springs and Tulsa soccer community for over 20 years. The club offers a full range or programs and opportunities from Kickstart (2-4 year olds) to competitive soccer to outreach programs around the Tulsa area. West Side Alliance's goal is to provide a premier soccer experience to all players with an effort to overcome financial, social, geographical and cultural deterrents. This includes youth who cannot normally afford a competitive soccer experience. We have a need based financial assistance program that makes it possible for many more youth to play soccer. 44% of our players are on some level of financial assistance. We feel that it is a privilege to serve the underserved youth of the Tulsa area. WHAT: West Side Alliance Soccer Club is a non-profit organization that provides soccer programming, including team formation, leagues,and events, instruction, camps, and vertical transition opportunities for players. WHO: There are over 2,500 participating members (players), approximately 2,500 additional members (parents), over 100 coaching staff members, and 1,000 additional affiliate members through Tulsa Field Sports Alliance (WSA is managing operator of Tulsa Field SportsAlliance since 2010). Approximately 80% of the participating members are youth, with an age range of 2-19 years old. MISSION: The mission of WSA Soccer Club is to provide premiere soccer playing experiences and recreation, while instilling a curriculum that focuses on personal development and player development. The full myriad of opportunities are presented under the umbrella of WSA Soccer, from local recreational soccer, to traveling competitive teams. The program spans from Kickstart, a program for 2 year olds, to the College Search Program, a program to help players advance to the college level, to Vertical Transitions, a program designed to help players with professional playing ambitions. COMMUNITY: WSA Soccer club hosts regional and national events, which create revenue streams for club sustainability, and likewise attract tourism to the communities that support WSA programming. RANGERS FC PARTNER: WSA is one of 10 youth clubs in North America who are partnered with Scotland’s professional club, Rangers FC. Rangers provides coach education, training, and brings scouts to WSA grounds for a “player ID” camp, to afford WSA a great partner in serving youth soccer players. |
